Renaissance Tampa Meet & Greet

Shortly after checking into my complimentary suite upgrade at the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza, management arranged a meeting with me. They wanted to tell me all about the hotel, and they gave me the warmest welcome I’ve ever had from a hotel. When I told them that I was launching my book Hotel Sweet Home later that week, they offered to host a Meet & Greet event. I extended my stay at the hotel for several more weeks, and I accepted their kind offer.

We set up a placard at the hotel entrance and smaller ones in the elevators and throughout the hotel. The Renaissance shared the event via Instagram and Facebook. I also teamed up with their mixologists to create a special cocktail for the event – a gin & tonic with Florida grapefruit (that’s the best kind), the aroma of rosemary, and a nectar that turns it a lovely shade of purple, the color of the Hotel Sweet Home book cover.

The Meet & Greet event was on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. I enjoyed great conversations with people who had questions about being a minimalist, traveler, and hotel dweller.

It was a wonderful event. Big thanks to the wonderful hotel staff at the Renaissance International Plaza hotel, especially Jim, Talib, Mandy, Nick, Carmen, James, and Valeri for all the support and help they provided. And an extra special thanks to my partner for the evening, Alyssa who helped me greet everyone and take pictures.

I made a fun little video to celebrate and share the event with you:

I enjoyed taking photos with some wonderful readers too.

Thank you to all those who came to this Meet and Greet. I hope to see you at a future event near you!
