The Palazzo is a large, high-end casino on the Las Vegas Strip. It’s between the Venetian (its sister tower) and The Wynn, and across from TI. It’s also across the corner from the Fashion Show Mall. The Palazzo and Venetian are owned by IHG, the same owner as Holiday Inn.
Because of previous gambling at the Palazzo, I was offered 3 “free” nights and an entry to a slot tournament. Nowadays “free” in Vegas often means “just the resort fee.” At the Palazzo, the resort fee is $32/day(!), so I ended up paying $96 for a 3-night stay.
I didn’t win any money in the slot tournament, but it was fun, and I enjoyed my room. Every room at the Palazzo is a one-room suite; there is a separate living and dining area from the bedroom area. I stayed in their most basic suite, which they call their Luxury Suite.
The bathroom has a separate toilet, double sink, jetted tub and a big shower with great water pressure. It even has a separate vanity table with a lighted make-up mirror, and the amenities are excellent quality. There’s even a TV in the corner (unfortunately, it’s not in a good position to watch during a bath).
There are 2 other TVs in the room. Unfortunately the TV in the living room has an electronic over-priced vending machine in front of it. If that weren’t frustrating enough, hotel management has also chosen to lock down the TVs so that you can’t plug devices into them. They would much prefer you to purchase their overpriced movies!
That’s okay though, because instead of watching TV, I enjoyed the Strip, the casino, my room, and my view.
I was also pleasantly surprised at how huge the gym was. There was a large variety of the latest equipment.
I requested an empty refrigerator in the room (complimentary – all you have to do is ask). There is a Walgreens in the front of the Palazzo, which allowed me to get some fruits, veggies, hummus, etc. for the room. However, my favourite part of my Palazzo experience is their room service. Their menu includes lots of Vegetarian and Vegan options. The food is very good, and I especially enjoyed the room service setup on my suite’s dining room table. Was it over-priced? Yes. Was it a lovely experience? Yes.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Palazzo. I may stay again, especially if it’s “free”!
