My Stay at Staybridge Suites Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Staybridge Suites is a few minutes off the south side of  Las Vegas Blvd (“the Strip”), west of the airport.  It is a member of Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG), the same owner as Holiday Inn.  This hotel is surrounded by a few other Marriott and IHG hotels, all of which have free shuttles to the Strip.

I chose Staybridge Suites because of its positive TripAdvisor reviews, and because it would be quieter than hotels on the Strip.  I also appreciate that it has a kitchen, I can cook my own meals rather than rely on expensive restaurants or unhealthy fast food on the Strip.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the suite. I like the separate living/dining room area from the bedroom, and it’s nice to have a fully equipped kitchen (except no blender!), and a washer and dryer. The living room area is comfortable, and the TV works flawlessly with my devices, e.g., for Netflix binges. The bathroom is large with a double sink, and the bed is large and comfortable.

Another perk of this hotel is free breakfast. It has your basic eggs and bacon, baked goods, oatmeal, and fruit. This free buffet fills up quickly in the mornings, so to get the best choices, in the most hygienic way, I arrived when they opened to grab some oatmeal and fruit. I then poured myself a cup of the cold fruit water they have in the lobby.

I also enjoyed the gym, as it was roomy and had lots of equipment. The airport shuttle service only ran to New York New York and the airport, so I used taxis and Uber to get around instead. I wish they offered a shuttle service to a grocery store. The hotel store had a very limited selection of food and drink items, and it’s especially limited for vegetarians and health-conscious people like myself.

My hotel room also had a nice balcony, which overlooked the pool and the mountains. It’s not the prettiest view in the world, but it’s quiet, and I enjoyed the blue skies.

Overall, the hotel is a bit isolated (especially if you’re without a car), but it’s a very good value and quite comfortable. Hooray for IHG StayBridge Suites Las Vegas!
