Hiltons of London: Hilton London Hyde Park

The Hilton London Hyde Park is a nice boutique hotel that recently finished significant refurbishments.   I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to stay again.
HHPFrontThe hotel is in a quaint building around the corner from Queensway LRT Station.  There are  several restaurants and pubs (of course) around, and it’s just a few blocks east of other shops and services.  Despite the busy street it’s on, I had no issue with noise.  Best of all, it’s across the street from Hyde Park, so nature walks are easy and pleasurable. I especially enjoyed seeing all the happy dogs and children.

The room was also nice and was relatively large for a London hotel.  I especially enjoyed the quality built-in drawers, lights, and plug outlets (including USB) next to each side of the bed.  The bathroom was a nice size too, and it included a bathtub.

The desk and closet were small, but fine.  Next to the closet, there was a medium-sized empty refrigerator, a tea setup, and a Nespresso machine. The TV had a lot of channels, plus I was able to easily hook up my iPad to watch Netflix on the TV.

Breakfast was in the restaurant next door, and it was probably the weakest part of the hotel stay. There were only a handful of buffet items, and both of the egg options were extremely runny. I ordered eggs cooked well, but it took several attempts, as there were communication issue with the waitress. Also, tea was pre-made, and it had a slight taste of coffee. That usually means that the tea is being stored in a container that used to store coffee. I let a staff member know, and he simply said he would bring me some hot water and a tea bag. However, I never received it. Starting the 2nd day, I brought my own tea bag, and I asked for hot water right away.

  1. I like the set up of this page…it was nice to have your picture there the whole time I was reading about the hotel. It made me feel like I was there with you. I think others would feel the same even though they don’t love you like I do!
