The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Westminster is a lovely hotel in central London. It is a sister property of my favourite Hilton hotel in London, the Doubletree by Hilton Tower Hill, and there are many clear similarities. I’ve only stayed once so far, but despite a couple of hiccups, I would be happy to return.
As usual with Hilton hotels, the beds and pillows are very comfortable. Unfortunately, we had to move rooms 3 times due to being near a linen closet, then a staff lift/elevator, where housekeeping made a lot of noise all day long.

There is no TV in the room – only an iMac. That’s challenging to use if you’re not a regular Mac user. For example, I had to reinstall Silverlight every time I launched Netflix. London Doubletree hotels are phasing these iMacs out, but the transition has not started here yet.
Still, the room was fine, and it had nice amenities. I especially appreciate the empty refrigerator in the room; it’s very handy for storing leftovers and bottled water.
The hotel provided excellent service in the restaurant and executive lounge (above-and-beyond service especially from Vik and Tamara). The executive room, which is free for Hilton Hhonors Diamond members, is outstanding, especially with the friendly, helpful service. They have wonderful vegetarian options in the evening, such as aubergine/eggplant lasagna. The only slightly negative thing for me was that the executive lounge closes quite early: 9:30pm

I ordered room service twice. The first time was okay, and the second time was excellent. Vik (who I had met earlier in the Executive Lounge) did a great job of taking my order, and he delivered delicious food. He said it was only his second day in this role; I think his future in hospitality is bright.
The hotel was in a good location, a quiet area next to river and within walking distance to major tube stations, restaurants, and pubs. I especially enjoyed the nice pub Morpeth Arms, after a lovely visit to the Tate Britain. The pub and museum are within a lovely 10-minute walk from the hotel.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay, and I definitely recommend it to others.
Seems to me that you should be getting paid for your excellent reviews of these Hilton Hotels! I makes me want to stay at Hiltons.
I like that idea! 🙂
