Hiltons of London: Doubletree by Hilton London Victoria

The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel London Victoria is a lovely, independently-owned hotel in the Victoria area of London, which is south of Hyde Park, and north of the Thames River.

As a Hilton Diamond member, I was happy to be upgraded to a junior suite, which was quite spacious and nice. The bedroom was quiet, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

There was a separate living room area with a large TV on the wall, and I could plug my iPad into it with an HDMI cable. I enjoyed Netflix binging on the couch!  I also enjoyed working on DoubletreeVictoriaPlugsthe large, well-built desk. There was a plug outlet center which included a USB outlet.

The living room area also included a mini-fridge. It contained some mini-bar items, but I removed them during my stay so I could use the fridge for leftovers and bottled water.

The bathroom was also excellent. It was large (especially for London), with good amenities and plenty of space on the sink basin.

The best part was the large shower, which included both a rainshower showerhead and a handheld showerhead.  The shower pressure and heat levels were great too, so taking a shower was a pleasure!

Breakfast was fairly standard for a Hilton, and I appreciated the variety of vegetarian options, especially the delicious vegetarian sausage.

The best part of breakfast was the service. I met Belinda on my first day, and from then on, she took extra good care of me… always remembering what I like.  It all started when I told her how much I enjoyed the little box of chocolates in my room. By the end of my stay, I sure had a lot of those little chocolates!

Mmmm…. chocolate!
The location was pretty good, as it was across the street from Victoria station, which contains grocery stores, shops, and restaurants (including YO! Sushi, which has lots of yummy and healthy vegetarian items).  It was also close to some small parks, although I didn’t do much walking around given the cold and rainy weather at the time.

Overall, I would definitely go back to this hotel, although I would cross all my fingers and toes that I would get a nice suite upgrade again.
