July has been a wonderful month! I’ve been super busy the past two weeks with publishing my book, Hotel Sweet Home. (Hooray!) Before that, I spent two weeks with my family and friends in Texas. It was wonderful seeing my parents again. Then I went on a cruise with my sister Wanda, niece, and best friend Missy (BFFs since junior high, over 30 years ago).
We sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas ship from Galveston, with stops in Yucatán and Cozumel, Mexico. I enjoyed a massage, rock climbing, quality entertainment, and delicious food. The service was friendly and impeccable. There was also plenty of time to relax by the pool, chat, and play board games. I don’t think a smile left my face the whole time. I went to bed happy and woke up excited every day.
My favorite part of the trip was in Cozumel. The ship offered a large number of excursions, but the clear winner for this group of salsa-loving women was “Salsa, Salsa & Margaritas.” We spent a couple of hours learning to make a variety of fresh salsas and margaritas. We laughed a lot while we made and enjoyed the food and drinks. Then we danced some of the calories away with salsa dancing. We ended the excursion by walking outside to the beautiful beach. I snorkeled with colorful fish and coral in amazingly clear water. It was one of the best days of my life!
I made a little video to share the fun:
