November is Diabetes Awareness Month

Happy Diabetes Awareness Month in 2018!

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last year, 6 months after being misdiagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I wrote a blog post about the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Basically, my body can no longer make insulin, which is what breaks down sugar.

After I was inspired at an adult Type 1 diabetes camp, embraced my new life, and became a Cyborg with amazing medical equipment, living with Type 1 diabetes has become easier to manage. Still, it comes with many daily challenges. I have to constantly monitor and maintain the right levels of sugar in my blood. If they stay too high or dip too low, I die!

I would like to share a bit about what it’s like to have Type 1 diabetes, via the CUTEST way possible. Meet little Maggie. #BeMaggieStrong

Thank you for caring and learning!
