Living the Dream with Lucky Cat and Supervillain

My husband, Dan Rome, is living the dream. After 25+ years in the corporate world, he started his own company. Better yet, Dan started a company that focuses on his greatest life-long passion… Games!
Lucky Cat Games

Dan Rome is the most intelligent person I have ever met. I know I’m biased because I’m madly in love with him, but it’s circular… one of the reasons I love and admire him is that he’s highly intelligent… also because he’s sweet, funny, caring, and fearless!

I don’t just love him because he makes me breakfast. 🙂

The combination of his intense passion, intelligence, creativity, and wit results in super fun and interesting games. Dan’s games make you think, and they will spark some important conversations. I feel like these games could truly change the world in a positive way!

Dan has created a number of fun board games for our family to play over the years, and now he has a game that is so fun, so funny, so exciting, so thought-provoking, and so unique, that he has created a product for all to enjoy: Supervillain!

Supervillain Card Game on KickstarterHonestly, I love playing Supervillain! Every game is fun and exciting, with clapping, screaming, and lots and lots of laughing. Whether I win or lose, I always enjoy myself.

I also like that players can choose the general duration of their game beforehand. (The number of capers you choose to complete determines how long the game should last.) So Supervillain is great for when I need a quick laugh during a lunchtime break at work, or for when I have a Sunday afternoon to play a couple of  long, epic Supervillain games.

Supervillain GameLucky Cat is using Kickstarter to crowdfund (raise money for) Supervillain. The campaign only lasts until October 31, and it’s only <20% funded so far. As a newbie into the gaming industry, it’s challenging to become well known. We feel that the best chances of becoming well known is simply to produce a great game, and players will spread the word organically. If the crowdfunding campaign is unsuccessful, Lucky Cat will still produce the game, and it will be sold on Amazon.

Supervillain - Get in the gameHowever, getting Supervillain funded by Kickstarter comes with some benefits, such as a bit of investment money and some notoriety with in the board game community. It also gives our supporters the opportunity to get the game at a great price, nd even to get IN the game! For a $650 pledge, supporters get the talented artist Theresa Johnson to draw them (or their friend, cat, etc.) and create their very own, play-able Supervillain game card. For $1,250, the person (or animal) becomes immortalized in the actual retail version of the Supervillain game!  Pretty cool! There’s only 1 week left for that opportunity!  Learn more on the Kickstarter site: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/luckycat/supervillain-a-card-game

Here’s something else cool… my daughter, Sarah Rome, made a video to show how to play the game. I’m so proud of her! Sarah not only fabulously starred in it, but she did a great job of editing and producing it, all in a very short period of time.

By the way, the rules have been enhanced quite a bit since Sarah created this video. After lots of play-testing and thinking, Dan has made changes that maximize the excitement and fun.

If you like games, please consider buying Supervillain. If you don’t like games, please consider buying some fun, unique holiday gifts.  We would also greatly appreciate your help to spread the word.  Please like and follow Lucky Cat on Facebook and Lucky Cat on Instagram and share any of our pictures, videos, posts, and pages.  THANK YOU in advance! I’ll keep you posted. 😄

Supervillain campaign ends on Halloween

I am enjoying being a part of Lucky Cat’s first project. I have learned a lot about Kickstarter, crowdfunding, the retail market, and the tabletop games industry.  It’s taken my mind off my yucky medical stuff this year, and I’ve begun sharing my husband’s passion because I’m so excited about how FUN Supervillain is. Hooray!  I don’t plan on quitting my day job as an Information Technology nerd anytime soon, but I love the idea of being a part of Dan’s successful game company. Fingers and toes crossed are crossed, and here we go!

  1. I am so excited that you have been impressed to be an active part of Dans mission. Your writing will make a huge difference. I have seen him as an awesome creator of games for many years, so needless to say, I am super excited that he is manifesting that! I guess Sarah will have to create a new video including the dice!? I have to find out where to buy dice…and see that Kath and I play it soon.
I like how you have expanded you blog to include deep thinking.
    Keep having fun.
    My Love Always,
